TL;DR

Teletype integration: enable the public API in your Teletype project settings, copy the project token, and enter it once on the Reportkey integrations page. Inquiries by channel, new clients, first response time, ratings, and operator workload reach a manager or client on schedule.

Messaging analytics report from Teletype

Teletype brings conversations from WhatsApp, Telegram, VK, MAX, Avito chats, email, and the website widget into a single window. That suits operators, but the business still asks: how many people wrote this month, through which channel, how fast did they get an answer, and what kept the team busy. Reportkey receives conversation metadata through the Teletype API and turns it into a section of a recurring report delivered as a link or PDF.

Teletype API connection

The connection is made per Teletype project. Enable the public API in project settings and a project token appears. The token does not expire: it works until someone reissues it. Paste it once on the Reportkey integrations page, then pick report blocks, the period, and the delivery schedule in your report project.

If the company runs several Teletype projects, for example one per brand, each has its own token and its own connection. When a token is reissued, the connection asks for the new value and the report settings stay as they were.

WhatsApp inquiries and other channels

The first block answers where customers write from. For each channel type over the period it shows:

  • new inquiries, meaning sessions opened in the period;
  • closed inquiries, those an operator completed;
  • unanswered dialogs at the moment the report is built;
  • new clients, contacts that appeared in Teletype for the first time.

For an online store this table replaces guesswork: you can see that Telegram is growing while the website widget stays quiet, or that VK community messages rose noticeably after a VK ad launch.

First response time report

Reply speed in a messenger directly affects sales: a person who waited half an hour has often already bought elsewhere. Reportkey finds the first customer message and the first staff reply in each inquiry and measures the gap. The report shows average and median first response, plus the share of inquiries answered faster than your threshold, by channel, operator, and period.

The calculation uses calendar time. Night messages push the average up, so the median and the daily breakdown give a fairer picture of the day shift.

Operator workload and ratings

The staff block shows how many inquiries each operator handled, how many messages they sent, and the average one-to-five rating customers left after closing. The table helps plan shifts and reveals who carries most of the flow.

Inquiry topics by category

If operators tag inquiries with categories, Reportkey shows their distribution by channel and period: delivery questions, returns, product advice, complaints. Marketers learn which questions the website or ads should answer up front, and managers see where ready-made replies would help.

Omnichannel chat analytics next to ads and CRM

Teletype does not pass the advertising source of an inquiry, so links to campaigns come from neighbouring blocks. Useful companions are:

All support services are collected in the customer support group. AI insights on conversations and report branding are not on every plan. A finished multichannel document appears in the in-house marketer demo report, and costs are on the pricing page.

Use cases

Why teams connect Teletype to Reportkey

Real reporting jobs, typical pain points, and the outcomes teams get from Teletype in client reports.

Pain points
  • Customers write via WhatsApp, Telegram, Avito, and the website widget, and the only way to tell which messenger brings more inquiries is to scroll the feed.
  • The manager suspects evening messages wait an hour for a reply, but cannot prove it without exporting conversations.
  • After launching ads with a message button, the marketer cannot see whether new chat clients actually increased.
Teletype
An online store selling through messengers

Shoppers ask about sizes and stock in WhatsApp and Telegram. A weekly report shows inquiries and new clients per channel next to the ads that lead into messengers, which helps decide where the budget should go.

Teletype
A support team with a response-time promise

The company promises customers a reply within a few minutes. A monthly report calculates median first response and the share of inquiries answered within that threshold, by channel and operator.

Teletype
An agency running Avito promotion

Avito chats are connected to Teletype. The client sees listing statistics and how quickly their managers reply to buyers from the marketplace in one document.

How Teletype appears inside the report

The report keeps the familiar Reportkey layout: source sections and period comparison.

  • Inquiry distribution across the categories your team assigns.

How to connect

Three steps to the first report

Connect the account once, choose the reporting scope, and save the setup for recurring client reports.

01
Connect the account
Save the Teletype connection once so the same datasource can be reused across recurring client reports.
02
Choose the reporting scope
Choose the Teletype account and channels or groups that should supply conversations, tickets, and response times to the report.
03
Save the setup and generate the report
Keep the selected scope in the project and reuse the same report setup next time instead of connecting the source again.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how the integration works in Reportkey today.

What do I need to do in Teletype to connect it?
In the Teletype panel, open project settings, enable the public API, and copy the project token. Enter the token once on the Reportkey integrations page. Each Teletype project has its own token; reissuing it disables the old one, and the connection then asks for the new value. The public API option must be included in your Teletype project subscription.
What is the difference between an inquiry and a dialog?
A dialog is the full conversation history with one customer in one channel. An inquiry is a separate session within a dialog, from opening until an operator closes it. A customer who wrote in March and again in May produces one dialog and two inquiries, so workload is counted by inquiries.
Why does response time differ from Teletype's built-in statistics?
Reportkey calculates first response time itself from customer and operator message timestamps in calendar minutes, ignoring working hours. If a customer wrote at night and got a reply in the morning, the interval will be long. Teletype's own reports may treat business hours differently.
How often is the data refreshed?
Data is loaded on every report build, either on schedule or manually. Teletype limits request frequency per project owner, so a large monthly message archive loads sequentially and such a report takes longer to build.
Does conversation text end up in the report?
No. The metrics need only service fields: message time, author, channel, operator, category, and rating. Message text and customer contacts are not shown in the report.
