Yandex Wordstat report: demand in the client's market
Reportkey takes Yandex Wordstat statistics for the project's phrases and shows the client's market in the report: how often people searched the topic on Yandex by month, week or day, on which devices, in which regions, and which nearby queries are gaining ground.
- The Yandex Cloud service account key is entered once and reused across projects.
- Query count and share for each phrase by month, week or day.
- Demand by device and region plus top related queries.

Yandex Wordstat integration: enter a Yandex Cloud service account API key and folder ID once on the integrations page, set phrases and regions in a project, and demand trends, devices, regions and top queries reach the client in a recurring report.
A search demand report for clients
The hardest question in SEO and paid search is “why are leads down?” Often the answer is the market, not the contractor: the topic left its season, interest moved to neighbouring queries, or demand fell in the client’s region. To show this, specialists open Wordstat, copy numbers into a sheet and attach it to the report.
Reportkey automates that step. Yandex Wordstat statistics for the project’s phrases become a section of a recurring report placed next to site traffic and ads, delivered as a link or PDF on schedule.
Connecting Wordstat through Yandex Cloud
Yandex provides programmatic Wordstat access through the cloud search API. You need a Yandex Cloud service account with the role for that API, its API key and the ID of the folder where the API is enabled. Yandex bills requests to the cloud billing account, so the key usually comes from whoever pays for the cloud, the agency or the client. Enter it once on the integrations page; each project then sets its own phrases, regions and devices. The region directory is free, so tables show city names rather than codes.
Wordstat keyword dynamics by month, week and day
The main block is demand for project phrases. For each phrase Wordstat returns the query count for the period and its share of all Yandex searches, and Reportkey adds change versus the previous period.
Pick granularity by task. Monthly suits seasonality and year-on-year talk. Weekly shows the effect of news or a competitor’s promotion. Daily finds the exact day of a spike. One technical difference matters: monthly and weekly support only the plus operator, while daily supports every Wordstat operator.
Seasonality in the report
Seasonality drives planning. If past years show a topic climbing at the same point every spring, budget and content can be prepared early, and the chart makes the case without asking the client to trust you. Next to Yandex Metrica visits the same chart explains dips: when demand fell harder than site traffic, the site actually gained share.
Wordstat by region and device
For multi-branch businesses, geography matters. The regional view shows where the topic is searched most, its share of all queries in each region and the affinity index, meaning how much interest in a region sits above or below the national average. Choose cities or larger regions in settings. Devices are the second cut: Wordstat splits desktop, phone and tablet, and for many topics mobile share grows faster than total demand.
Top and related queries
A separate block lists queries searched together with the main phrase and similar wordings gaining popularity. For SEO that means new pages; for paid search, new keywords and negatives. Wordstat returns this list for the last 30 days.
Wordstat next to site data
Demand is useful beside results: indexing and search queries from Yandex Webmaster, visits and goals from Yandex Metrica and Yandex Direct campaigns. For phrase positions add Topvisor or Rush Analytics. All SEO sources are on the SEO integrations page. AI insights and branding are not on every plan. See the SEO agency demo report and pricing.

Why teams connect Yandex Wordstat to Reportkey
Real reporting jobs, typical pain points, and the outcomes teams get from Yandex Wordstat in client reports.
- When traffic drops, the SEO specialist opens Wordstat by hand yet again to prove that demand itself fell.
- Keyword seasonality is compiled into a spreadsheet once a year and is stale by the next client call.
- Regional demand for a client with branches is checked one city at a time and copied manually.
Next to Yandex Metrica visits the report shows demand for the client's main phrases. If traffic fell together with demand, the conversation is about season, not about the quality of the work.
Monthly demand from past periods shows when the topic starts to grow. The specialist proposes raising Yandex Direct bids ahead of time and backs it with data instead of instinct.
The regional block shows where the topic is searched most and where its regional affinity is high. The chain's marketer spots cities with untapped demand.
How Yandex Wordstat appears inside the report
The report keeps the familiar Reportkey layout: source sections and period comparison.

A line chart of monthly query counts for three project phrases with year-over-year change, a device pie chart, and a regional table with query count, share and regional affinity.
Three steps to the first report
Connect the account once, choose the reporting scope, and save the setup for recurring client reports.
