Mautic client report: emails and form leads

Reportkey connects to the API of your Mautic install and builds a client report section from row-level statistics: emails sent, unique opens, tracked link clicks, unsubscribes, bounces and form submissions by day, week and month.

Sign up, enter your Mautic install address and API access, then pick the connection in a project. Your first report in 5 minutes.
  • Install address and API access are entered once and reused across projects.
  • Emails, opens, clicks, unsubscribes and form leads by period.
  • Mautic shares one report with ads and Metrica, plus AI insights and branding (not on every plan).

TL;DR

Mautic integration: enter your install address and API credentials, an OAuth client or a Basic Auth user, once on the integrations page, and emails, reactions and form leads for the period reach the client on schedule as a link or PDF.

A Mautic report for clients without manual assembly

Mautic is an open-source marketing automation platform that companies install on their own servers. It holds contacts, segments, emails, flows, forms and landing pages, and it is chosen when keeping the base in-house matters more than a per-contact SaaS price. Openness has a cost: built-in reports must be configured, exported and formatted by hand, while a client or manager wants a clear regular summary. Reportkey reads data straight from your install’s API and builds a report section delivered on schedule as a link or PDF.

Connecting Mautic: install address and API access

First make sure the API is enabled in Mautic settings and the server is reachable from the internet. Then choose authentication: an OAuth client created under API Credentials, or the login and password of a dedicated user if Basic Auth is turned on. A separate reporting user with read rights for emails, forms and statistics is the tidiest option.

The address and credentials are entered on the integrations page and saved as a shared connection. An agency serving several installs adds one connection each and picks the right one in the client project. Reportkey only reads data and never sends email. If the password changes or the OAuth client is removed, the connection asks you to sign in again and project settings remain.

Mautic email statistics: where the numbers come from

For a period, Reportkey reads the row-level send table rather than lifetime counters. Each row holds the email, list, send date, read date, read flag, failure flag and open count. Filtering by send date gives an accurate view of the month:

  • Sent — emails sent in the period.
  • Read — unique recipients whose tracking pixel loaded.
  • Open rate — read divided by sent.
  • Failed — rows flagged as failed sends.

Names, subjects and email type, segment send or flow template, come from the email list, so each number in the table is tied to the email that produced it.

Mautic opens and clicks: what to trust

An open in Mautic is a pixel load, and privacy features in mail apps can load it without a human. Clicks are more reliable: Mautic redirects links through its own address and records every visit. The clicks and unsubscribes block puts tracked link clicks next to opens and shows unsubscribes and bounces separately.

Form leads and a marketing automation report

Mautic forms are embedded on the website and drop leads straight into the contact base. A dedicated block shows form submissions by day and by form. In B2B this is often the headline metric, because emails exist to bring people back to the site to leave their details. One document shows both emails sent and leads received in the same period. A lifetime email table adds total sent and read per email, type and publish date, useful for flows that run for months.

Mautic next to the website and ads

To link emails to sales, add Yandex Metrica visits and goals or Google Analytics 4 events, and channel revenue from Roistat. If some newsletters go through a cloud service, place a Unisender block alongside. Other email and messaging tools are on the email integrations page; see the in-house team demo report and pricing for plans and the trial.

Use cases

Why teams connect Mautic to Reportkey

Real reporting jobs, typical pain points, and the outcomes teams get from Mautic in client reports.

Pain points
  • Built-in Mautic reports are configured in the interface and exported to CSV, then the marketer pastes them into a client deck by hand.
  • Sent and read counters in the email list accumulate over the email's lifetime, so seeing what happened this month needs a separate query.
  • Form submissions, email clicks and website visits live in three places, and nobody shows the full path from email to lead.
Mautic
A company running Mautic on its own server

Marketing chose an open-source platform to keep the contact base in-house. A monthly report shows emails sent, reads, clicks and unsubscribes, plus how many leads the website forms collected.

Mautic
An agency that installs and maintains Mautic for clients

Each client has its own install and its own Reportkey project. The branded report replaces manual assembly from built-in reports and shows automation results next to advertising.

Mautic
A B2B company with a long sales cycle

Mautic runs nurture flows and collects form leads. The head of sales sees in a weekly summary which emails drive clicks and how many new leads came from forms, next to deals from the CRM.

How to connect

Three steps to the first report

Connect the account once, choose the reporting scope, and save the setup for recurring client reports.

01
Connect the account
Save the Mautic connection once so the same datasource can be reused across recurring client reports.
02
Choose the reporting scope
Choose the Mautic account and mailings that should supply delivery, opens, and clicks to the report.
03
Save the setup and generate the report
Keep the selected scope in the project and reuse the same report setup next time instead of connecting the source again.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how the integration works in Reportkey today.

What do I need to connect Mautic to Reportkey?
Your install address, the API enabled in Mautic settings, and credentials: either an OAuth client created under API Credentials, or the login and password of a dedicated user when Basic Auth is enabled. The user needs read rights for emails and statistics. Enter these once on the integrations page.
Will it work with Mautic inside a private network?
Mautic is installed on the owner's server, so for reporting the install must be reachable from the internet and the API must be on. If the server is closed, the administrator opens API access for Reportkey addresses. Request limits come from the install itself.
Why are opens higher than real readers?
Mautic records an open when a tracking pixel loads. Apple Mail Privacy Protection and some corporate filters fetch images automatically, inflating the number. Link clicks are more reliable, which is why the report places them next to opens.
Why do monthly figures differ from the email list counters?
Counters in the Mautic email list are lifetime totals. For a period, Reportkey reads row-level send statistics filtered by send date, so a month only includes emails sent during that month.
How far back does the data go?
History depth is set by the install owner. If Mautic is configured to purge old statistics, deleted periods will not appear. Data is requested again every time a report is built and is current as of that moment.
Where are unsubscribes and bounces?
Mautic stores them in a shared do-not-contact list with a reason: unsubscribe, bounce or manual block. Reportkey separates the reasons and shows unsubscribes and bounces as their own columns by email and period.
